British Invasion: Day 392

Hello everybody!

I am sorry that I haven't updated my blog on the last couple of weeks but I'll explain it to you what is going on:

- Exams: I have only one left and even though my study time doesn't take too long (I memorise easily) I still need to study to achieve my amazing goals;

- Moving Out: I won't be staying in the same city next academic year and that means that I am (again) creating roots in London. This means that when I am not studying or working, I am packing my things which, let me tell you, it's not easy;

- Job: I tried my luck and handed in my CV on the shop that I worked last year and... I got the job! I am so happy and thrilled but that also takes a lot of time when it comes to reading;

- Reading: at the moment, I am reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, by Sarah J. Maas. I try to read everytime I can but... the three reasons above don't leave me any free time;

- Book of June: the first book that I bought this month was Crown of Midnight. So happy! As soon as I finish #ACOTAR I will start reading Crown of Midnight because I miss Dorian and Celaena.

British Invasion: Day 365

1 year ago it was raining in Lisbon and my mom and I were ready to fly to London. Today, she is working and I am studying Translation. When we arrived, it was sunny like today, with good weather, birds singing, everything perfect. The house was not what we expected but we are now much more aware that here we really need to see the place because people don't always say what it is.

I am studying but I haven't found a job yet, so my plans for the next fortnight is to find a room in London, where I can find a job (that is my second plan). I hope I can find it and then travel to university - 1:30/2 hours journey by train next academic year.
I don't have big plans for my second year here in the UK: I just hope that I can find a job, a good home and keep studying and having good grades, like I am having.

Thank you so much for following my blog, it is unbelievable that it's been an year.

British Invasion: Day 17

We went to an interview regarding the National Insurance Number, and it was close by the White Chapel Gallery

Then, we had our lunch at Starbucks:

My frapuccino tasted like cookies. But, like, those beautiful and super tastyful cookies that you love and adore and are always thinking about them!
(And no, I don't want to know how many calories it had)

Then, we finished our beautiful day at the Park. With a book (of course)

British Invasion: Day 16

Today, I had to leave home because I was feeling a little bit sad because I still haven't found a job. I will not give up, it was just one of those days when you thhink that the world is against you.
So I decided to go to visit one of my favourite places: Westminster, Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben...

While I was there, drinking my capuccino, I heard this beautiful and angelical voice. Then, I found out that she has youtube channel, and as soon as I got home, I visited her channel. Here it is the song that she was singing near to London Eye:

British Invasion: Day 15

Today, I went to Baker Street and then to Charing Cross.

No, I'm kidding and talking seriously at the same time.

I bought a Spanish exercise book, but I don't want to stay away from Spanish much longer. As soon as I got home, I practiced one unit. YAY!

My mum went to the Post Office and we asked for our National Insurance Numbers! Which is amazing and I hope that I get a job really soon.

I was thinking about being a Nanny. The children love me and, if you have patience (which I have - A LOT) they can be amazing human beings! What do you think?

I finished Part I of Mansfield Park yesterday, and I decided to start reading City of Ashes because, you know, it's Cassandra Clare *_*

I also gave an English lesson to my mum. I teach English too, even on Skype (which is pretty amazing, because I have to do all these beautiful Power Point presentations).

I got a reply from EAT regarding my CV Application (yesterday - they replied in less than 24h) but I didn't get the job. :(

It rained a lot today. We had left our umbrellas at home, so we had to buy new ones (but they are so adorable!)

British Invasion: Day 10

I hope you had an amazing day as we had!

We did some grocery shopping and then my mum had a job interview, which went really well! She got the job!

While we were going to the underground, we saw this beautiful cat who did a really cute pose to my camera:

I know! Isn't he cute? And yes, he was on the top of the car!

Yesterday, we saw a squirrel but we couldn't photograph it. However, today, wildlife was everywhere! This is probably a baby squirrel because of its size but it was so cute and was a little scared.

That's all for today! I didn't make a video for today because we arrived really late at home.

PS - did you know that BBC 3 does a Doctor Who marathon? I was really surprised and it made me remember how much I adore Amy and Rory Pond. *_*

Today, we went to The Who Shop. To every Whovian out there, this is a place where we can fangirl and nobody is going to judge us.

My mum and I opened the TARDIS' door:

I loved everything in the museum, but this painting... I wasn't expecting and it really touched my heart, because The Ultimate Ginger is very special to me.

I could speak hours about this amazing shop and museum, but I'll just say that we can see that everything has dedication, love and caring, specially the museum. To any Whovian, and even for someone who isn't a fan, trust me, you're gonna love it!

We bought our mugs, of course, and key chains! Each one of us has a TARDIS key chain, now! I have the key of the TARDIS!!!

British Invasion: Day 8

Hello everyone!

A week ago I was exhausted, my back hurt and I was ready to go to bed (or, most likely, I would be asleep). I has been a week since I am here with my mum and it has been a blast.

Unfortunately, yesterday night we had a little problem with our neighbours (don't worry, we are fine) but, still, we couldn't sleep much through the rest of the night so today, we stayed at home. My mum did some laundry and mopped (yes, we bought a mop!) the room. I basically slept the whole day (and I am tired as if I had been up all day).

I am really glad that my blog is turning into a success. My point with this blog is to show you some of the things that I love and am interested about. I hope that is what I am accomplishing.

Also, I did some reading today. What I mean to say is that I started reading Doctor Who Magazine and I am really enjoying it. It is really expensive, it is totally worth it.

It rained all day and the temperature is really low: 17ºC was the maximum for today.

Right now, I am going to read some Mansfield Park before fall asleep. I just love Jane Austen!
